Welcome to The Black Cat Jewellery Store

The Black Cat Jewellery Store is owned and run by me, Anna. It is named after my super gorgeous black cat, Lewis. (See photos below.) I am slightly potty about cats (some people would say very potty!!) and semi-precious beads. I make all of the jewellery in my home studio.

Most of my jewellery is made using my beloved semi-precious gemstones. I love working with colour and creating different looks by combining the gemstones with different metals such as silver, antique gold, gunmetal and my favourite, antique copper. I'm drawn to richly or brightly coloured stones such as fire carnelian, turquoise, various forms of agate and amethyst. I love the varying markings of a particular stone and how no two beads are the same. These factors are what inspire me to create a piece. My designs tend to be colourful, bold and striking.

New Jewellery Projects for 2012

Happy New Year to all The Black Cat Jewellery Store fans and followers.

New projects for 2012 are - use more sterling silver in my designs, create a range of Murano glass jewellery, expand my dichroic glass range to include tie/scarf pins, re-photograph all my fan necklaces using the new jewellery bust and try to blog a bit more often. Oh..... and achieve world domination!!

Not much then!! I fell exhausted just thinking about it. I need to lie down......

Cats

I'm thinking that this blog would be far more entertaining if it were mainly about cats rather than my jewellery. Lets face it.... cats are far more interesting on a daily basis!!

More Pandora Designs

I am still in the midst of a Pandora craze!! I have widened my range to include bangles, pendants, keyrings and earrings. There is something to suit everyone. I have even tracked down some semi-precious Pandora style beads which I think makes mine a bit different from other designs. This one on the left has black agate and mookaite beads with Japanese ceramic beads. The one below has yellow jade, tiger's eye and mookaite.
There will be lots more designs coming as all the beads that I ordered arrive.

Aren't Mums fab?!!

Just to let you all know that my online shops are now open again. I'm still on holiday but my lovely Mum is packing up orders for me. She works tirelessly on my behalf with little reward. (I offered to pay her but she turned it down saying that she didn't want to be 'official'.)

Hols.

I'm having a holiday this week. My online shops are closed for a few days; probably until Wednesday-ish.
I am staying with my boyfriend which is great but it means that I have had to leave my cat, Lewis, behind at home. I am missing him lots and I am told that he is missing me. :)
